According to industry insiders' analysis, China's optical fiber can become one of the world's largest suppliers of optical fiber active connectors within five years. In 2011, China Optical Fiber increased its optical fiber connector production capacity from 9 million units to 12 million units. It is also increasing the production capacity of soft optical cables from 13,000 kilometers to 130,000 kilometers, and plans to put capacity in 2012. Further increase the production capacity of fiber optic connectors by 50% to 18 million sets to meet the market demand for fiber optic connectors.

During the 12th Five-Year Plan period, China’s broadband network infrastructure will have a total investment of 1.6 trillion yuan, of which 570 billion yuan will be invested in broadband access networks.
